Let's talk HAIR! Four Hair Product Reviews, and Lipstick of the Day!

Today's Lipstick of the Day is...

Kat Von D's Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick in Lolita!

KVD has a few different lines of lipsticks out at Sephora, I have a few of each of the lines, and enjoy them all for different reasons.  These liquid lipsticks are quite the find.  They are SUPER pigmented, and dry to a SUPER matte finish.  The staying power is also good - I get easily 5 hours of wear with these.  I recommend a chapstick for the top of this, because the formula is very very matte, resulting in dryness which can feel annoying.  You do sort of have to keep an eye on it too, because it does have a tendency to flake if applied too heavily and not allowed to dry in between coats...not a good look.  Lolita is a dirty rose that pulls more brown, and is a great color that could most definitely be worn on all skin tones.
The name of the product is no joke either - it is literally a LIQUID so you have to be really careful when the tube is open, and when putting the applicator back in the tube, because it can have a tendency to bubble out - which causes quite a mess.

I have KVD's Painted Love Lipstick in Lolita also (same color, Painted Love lippies come in tube form and apply totally differently.) and I have done swatches of both the Liquid and the Tube lipstick for reference:
With Flash - Left: Lolita Liquid Lipstick, Right: Lolita Tube Lipstick
Without Flash - Top: Lolita Liquid Lipstick, Bottom: Lolita Tube Lipstick
Both KVD's Painted Love and Everlasting Love Liquid Lipsticks are $19.00 and available exclusively at Sephora and

I've gotten a few messages requesting some reviews about some of my favorite hair products, so here goes :)

In order, from left to right, as follows:
  • Suave Keratin Infusion Heat Defense Leave-In Conditioner
    • Suave describes this product as: "This dual-action lightweight formula, enriched with KERALOCKยช TECHNOLOGY, both infuses keratin inside the hair fiber for ultimate moisturization and helps protect hair while heat styling.
Infuses keratin & seals cuticles for:
      • Advanced protection from heat damage
      • Frizz control for up to 48 hours
      • Smooth & manageable hair, easy styling"
Sher's Humble Opinion: I like this because it smells great, and protects hair from heat styling.  It has a thick consistency and is a light beige color, with gold glitter (maybe helps hair be shiny?) You can use this on dry or damp hair, I prefer to use it on damp hair after the shower, then blow dry.  It leaves it very silky and manageable, and will only run you about 3 bucks!  Frizz control is definitely there, too.  Love it.
  • Pantene Pro-V Silky Moisture Whip
    • Pantene describes this product as: Pantene’s Pro-V Daily Moisture Renewal Whip helps hair feel moisturized for up to 48hours, helps protect against heat damage and regulate hair’s moisture- delivering silky hair that shines.  Sher's Humble Opinion:  This comes out in mousse form, and is supposed to be used on damp hair before blow-drying.  I definitely like this stuff, a little goes a long way, and it smells great.  It does live up to the claim of being "silky" it makes hair soft, touchable and easy to style after blow dried.  The number of fly-aways are greatly reduced after I use this product, and my hair feels "restored"  Hallelujah!!!  This is between $5 and $7, worth a try if you're looking for a new styling product.
  • Garnier Sleek & Shine Moroccan Sleek Oil Treatment
    • Garnier describes this product as:  "Unbeatable Softness & Shine*. No Oily Residue
Our Innovative leave-in treatment with precious Argan Oil from Morocco.
      - Absorbs in an instant
      - Restores smoothness
      - Mends roughness
      - Intensifies shine
      - Deep, sleek conditioning
Sher's Humble Opinion:  THE HOLY GRAIL OF OIL LEAVE-INS!  I usually even bring this stuff in my purse for when (yes, when!) my hair gets crazy while I'm out.  It is literally amazing.  It has a beautiful, earthy smell.  You put this stuff on the length of your hair, and honestly it doesn't matter how much you put in, your hair will drink it right up.  It's amazing, and one of my favorite hair products of all time.  Costs about 5 bucks!
  • L'oreal Total Repair 5 Multi-Restorative Dry Oil
    • Loreal describes this product as:
    • 5-in-1 Miracle Oil
    • Deep nourishment, repairs damage.
    • Smooths hair texture and
      tames flyaways.
    • Infuses lasting luminous shine.
    • Weightless, non-greasy,
      absorbs instantly.
Sher's Humble Opinion:  I got this on a whim a few weeks ago in Walgreens, and have been playing around with it.  This is a spray oil, and I do apply it liberally and it never makes my hair look greasy or dirty.  My hair drinks this stuff up too, but this stuff doesn't smell as enticing as the Garnier stuff, and since this is a SPRAY, spray carefully - because I've almost taken a few tumbles by getting this stuff on the bathroom floor haha.  It definitely tames flyaways, and makes my hair feel soft and smooth.  This stuff is about 7 dollars.
Thanks so much for reading, stay foxy!

A SUPER Sexy Blush - along with Lipstick of the Day!

Wednesday...let's get down with our foxy side, shall we?!

Today's Lipstick of the Day is...

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in CANDY APPLE!

In case you haven't heard of these...these babies are freakin amazing.  I believe I own like 5 of these, and no kidding, they are all AWESOME.  You choose the amount of color you want, you can do a quick swipe for a little color and a nice moisturizing shield, or, you can pack it on and get down with your bad self!  I choose the latter of the two :)
Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Candy Apple

Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple is awesome for anyone who always wanted to rock a red lipstick, but thinks they "cant" (you totally can, it's all in your head!)  This color of red works for ANYONE.  There is no "lipstick" feel to this, all of the lip butters are very glossy feeling, but have the potential color payoff of a lipstick.  These can also be applied straight from the tube, which makes them perfect for in the purse, and on the go.  I absolutely love these, and word on the street is Revlon just came out with 4 new shades... :)  The other awesome part about these, is that it also performs like a chapstick, so you don't have to worry about any flakies on your lips when you apply this, it'll take care of them almost immediately.  (unless it's really bad, in that case, exfoliate prior to application, of course!)
Swatch - with flash!  This was "packed on" about 5 swipes back and forth.

Revlon describes these as:
- Buttery Balm + Shiny Color
- Buttery balm with beautiful shiny color to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips. 94% of women felt lips were softer, smoother, and instantly hydrated. -Award winning.

These run between $6 and $8 or so, and can be found at any drugstore.  They come in a large variety of shades, I think there is about 20, so there is definitely a color to cover anyone's mood :) Try them, you will NOT be sorry!  They have not been out long, and are already a cult-classic.  People are raving about them, and rightfully so, in my humble opinion.

And for my next trick...
Physician's Formula Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Blush!!

For reference, I am wearing this blush in my Lipstick of the Day picture, above.  Physician's Formula describes this cute little number as:

Give Cheeks A "Not So Innocent" Glow!
  • Sexy-boosting formula
  • Irresistibly blushing glow
  • Oil free
  • Dermatologist approved
  • Non-Comedogenic
Wear this perfect blend of shimmery blushing tones like lingerie for your face for an instant sexy boost with an alluring blushing glow.  Sexy Boosting Formula:  Infused with the scent of warm vanilla, "afterglow" illumination and pheromone-mimicking ingredients including clinically tested androstadienone, cocoa extract (aka "the Love Chemical") and ancient aphrodisiac horny goatweed to enhance your sexy side.

Horny Goatweed...LOL!  The outer package is old school sexy, very Bettie Page-esque, covered in a dark red metallic cloth, with fishnet over it and a little metal stiletto heel charm on the outside. The blush itself is even sexy - a pink flush powder with a dark rose/pink stiletto heel inlaid, and a sparkly iridescent heel!
Brush is housed in the bottom of the package with mirror!

The package itself opens both at the top and the bottom with magnetic closure.  The top reveals the blush, and the bottom stores a mirror and a cute little brush.  If you're looking for just a touch of pink color and a bit of highlight, I suppose you could use the brush provided, but you'd get a better color payoff using a regular blush or powder brush to apply.  And it gets even better...this powder smells like CAKE!  They say it has the scent of warm vanilla...nope.  I smell red velvet cake, and IT ROCKS.  This blush is definitely build-able, and is suitable for day or night wear.  It does appear VERY glittery in my swatches below, but I really packed on the color because it was so hard to reveal in the photos.  In real-life, it is a nice, luminous sexy glow...totally lives up to the claim!
Swatch - with flash
Swatch - without flash
This little lovely will run you about $10, but the one that I had included a coupon that was redeemable right away, for $3 off, so I snagged mine for $7 at CVS.

Thanks for reading and stay foxy!!!

OPI Liquid Sand Nail Polish and a Foxy Fuschia Lip Stain

OoOOooHhhhhh I feel sick...LOVESICK that is!
Today's Lipstick of the day is...
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick

I came across this juicy little find from my Facebook newsfeed (damn thing!)  Revlon pronounced their color of the month "Hot Azalea" as seen below:
Revlon's January Color of the Month: Hot Azalea!  (AWESOME!)
I own 3 of these Balm Stains, and let me tell you, they are phenomenal, and I'll tell you why of course!  The color is build-able, so whether you're going for a kiss of color, or all out foxy drama, these are the answer.  It has a lovely clean mint scent, and sensation.  The color doesn't sit on top of your lips, it literally stains them (washable, comes off with makeup remover) so there's no immediate worries of having to re-apply.
Being Lovesick has never been so pretty...!
There is a nice glossy finish on application, which stays for awhile, depending on how much you've applied.  These balms wear evenly, so you don't get that nasty "I'm only wearing Lip Liner" look as the day goes on.  (OMG that is the worst, so embarrassing.)

Revlon describes the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains as:

"A pampering balm fused with a lightweight lipstain in an adorable chubby crayon. Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain gives softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of color that lasts hour after hour. The gel formula comes in 12 vibrant shades that match any look or mood."

These lovelies come in 12 different colors that range from nudes to red, all the shades below :)
All 12 shades of Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains
These babies run between $6 and $8 depending on where you go - they always are coupon eligible too, so you can get them for even cheaper.

For my next review...

OPI Liquid Sand Nail Laquer in "Get Your Number"
OPI Liquid Sand Nail Polish in "Get Your Number"
I came across this nail polish over the weekend, and couldn't pass it up.  It dries to a matte finish, and really does feel like sand.  The gritty texture was a little weird at first, but I got used to it really quickly, and now, LOVE it.  As you can see, I have really short nails, so I can't really attest to how these chip, since my nail beds don't extend over the tips of my fingers, haha.  However, I can tell you I've been wearing it for 2 days and it hasn't budged at all.

I really like this nail polish, and I think it's definitely unique and fun.  There are 3 more colors in the Liquid Sand line, a fuschia/reddish color, a purple, and a black/red.  All of them look totally awesome.  These are $9 and seem to be available wherever OPI polish is sold :)  These bad boys are limited edition, so make up your mind! :)

The Foxiest Matte Lipstick EVER....!!!!

Right now I am hailing the cosmetic deities, because this weekend, I have obtained a lipstick that I have been pining over for about 2 months now...
Rimmel London Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick by Kate Moss in Shade #107!
This lipstick has been on TV ads, in just about every beauty blog that I've been creeping on, and in my Facebook news feed for like 2 months now.  Every time I see these ads Kate Moss wearing this shade in the ad, I am spellbound...
Hayyy Kaaaate, lookin' good gurrrll, I see you rockin' that 107!!!!!
I was worried that this wasn't going to be all I dreamed...most matte lipsticks highlight every flaw on your lips and just end up caking and looking like total glamorous.  Not this one, though!  This lipstick applies like a dream - smoothly with no tugging or pulling.  I imagine a lip brush would make the application process easier, however I don't have the patience for that because this color is just too gorgeous and I must apply right away, as fast as I meticulously apply it from the tube, fixing my eff ups with a Q-tip along the way :)
Swatch!!  (Dont mind the swatches surrounding it heheheh...)
This is the most moisturizing matte formula I have ever tried.  It feels really creamy, and it does have a slight sheen upon initial application, however, it dries down to a lovely velvet matte finish within a minute or so, and it is literally just stunning.  While looking at this color in the tube at the store, I was certain it was going to be a disappointment, because it doesn't look as dark as it should be in the tube...I'm not sure why that is, but as soon as it's applied, it comes to life.  This lipstick makes me feel super old-hollywood vintagey glamorous!!
Store Display of Rimmel London Matte collection Lipsticks
No woman should be without a tube of this lipstick - and at $5.19 a tube, no woman will have to be without a tube of it :)  As far as WHERE to purchase this, it's tricky at the moment.  These are set to be a Spring 2013 launch for the US, and I've only started seeing them within the last few weeks at the main drugstores around here (CVS, Walgreens, Harmon) but of course, they are always out of shade 107, because every woman on the face of the planet is spellbound by Kate Moss's beautious ad, and must have it.  Also, (don't ask me why) but some of the displays actually don't include 107...but feature Kate Moss wearing 107...and that is just plain rude.

I hope you enjoyed this lipstick as much as I do, and are able to find it with no issues if you do decide to get it!

Hope you guys had a great weekend!  As always, thanks for reading and stay foxy!

Foxy Finds I'm Dying to Try!

This is my first post from the Blogger app, so let's see how this turns out, shall we?

Too Faced has launched their air buffed bb cream, which is advertised as being a full coverage bb cream.  This will be the first of its kind.  Marketed to prime, mattify and cover, I'm dying to try this.  The packaging couldn't be cuter, it has its own foundation brush, which attaches to the very top of the jar.  My sister Kelsey is eagerly awaiting this product to show up on her doorstep, and will be doing a guest review on my blog once it arrives,  so be on the lookout! :)

NARS is launching their Light Reflecting Setting Powder at Sephora on February 1st.  This powder is a revolutionary product, as it sets, blurs fine lines, and perfects complexion, all without a trace of color.  It's going to be available in loose and pressed form, I've got my eyes on the pressed powder!  I cant wait to try this, it's been getting fantastic reviews from people who have been lucky enough to receive PR samples for review.  Definitely marked on my calendar! :)

Lastly, I'd like to bring a product to everyone's attention that WILL NOT be available in the US.  Rimmel London has released a line of lip laquers that they claim is a breakthrough in lipstick.  Rimmel Apocalips launched in the UK on January 23rd, and there is not one bad review out there.  These things have it all, staying power, opaque coverage, glossy finish.  I contacted Rimmel London myself, trying to find out when these beauties would be available to me...they replied that they wouldnt!!  I will continue to pester them about it until they are available to us beauties in the US!  And I think everyone should visit Rimmel London UK's facebook page and let them know that Apocalips needs to make it's way across the pond!

Any products you're waiting to try?

As always, thanks for reading and stay foxy ;)

Friday Beauty Breakdown!!!!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!  WoOOooOOhoOoOOoo!!!!!!

Today's Lipstick of the Day is:
Maybelline Superstay 14 Hour Lipstick in Ultimate Blush

Maybelline's Superstay 14 hour Lipstick in Ultimate Blush!

I've had this lipstick in my arsenal for a few months now, it comes out every now and again to play, but I think today really made me realize how much I really like it!  It's a very flushy pink, and it's got lots and lots of metallic sparkle - think Maybelline "Forever Metallics" Pink Zinc, but warmer.  It's a very playful, but wearable color.

The one thing that kind of puts me off about this lipstick is the smell.  Upon initial application, it reeks of some kind of chemical and fruit, which is the weirdest combination.  Once applied, the smell goes away, thankfully!!  The formula of the lipstick allows for smooth application, and the color is light enough that you can apply right from the tube with no issues.
Ultimate Blush
Swatch: Maybelline Superstay 14 Hour Lipstick in Ultimate Blush

Now far as the 14 hour claim?  I don't think so...I'd say you can get an easy 6-8 hours of wear from this, but around that time it starts to wear and require touching up, for me anyway.  Fortunately, this lippie is not very drying, so some people may be able to go longer - I've never found this to last 14 hours though. I will say that this color is definitely hard to wash off - it leaves a nice metallic awesome pink stain, which I actually like a lot!  It wears evenly too, so you don't get that weird "lipliner" look as it's wearing off, which is another plus.

This lipstick is available at any drugstore and retails for between 5-8 dollars, definitely worth a shot if you like longwear lipsticks!

Now then, on to my next review...

Hard Candy Glamoflage Heavy Duty Concealer!
Hard Candy: Glamoflage Heavy Duty Concealer
As a background on this brand, I'm not sure if most people know that this used to be a "prestige/high end" brand, and was only sold at places like Nordstrom/Sephora, etc.  A few years back, Hard Candy made a deal with Wal-Mart, and now their products are available there exclusively.  They seriously have some awesome things (I did a pretty good haul last night, so you'll be seeing more from me about this brand!) and are definitely affordable, their products are all under $10, with the exception of maybe a few eyeshadow palettes.  Plus side: No testing on animals.  What's not to love?!

This lovely product in particular was brought to my attention by my sister.  I don't go to Walmart very often, so I haven't had a lot of exposure to this brand.  She informed me that "this shit covers EVERYTHING" so needless to say, I had to check it out.

Hard Candy describes this product as:

This heavy-duty concealer blends well into your skin to provide that ultimate coverage. Perfect for any occasion, this Glamoflauge concealer can be used to cover anything right from dark circles to tattoos. The included pencil makes it easy and convenient to fade away those spots on your face. Get this heavy-duty concealer with pencil and enjoy blemish-free skin in no time.
  • A heavy-duty, multi-use concealer that provides ultimate coverage
  • Formula blends flawlessly into skin
  • Hide everything from dark circles and blemishes to tattoos
  • Concealer: 0.71 oz; pencil: 0.023 oz

  • I haven't tested this product on tattoos, but I can tell you that it schooled the hell out of the dark circles under my eyes, as well as my blemishes and acne scars.  My only advice, don't pack it on, because it does have a tendency to look cakey if you do.  I've been searching for a good under-eye concealer FOREVER, I've tried them all, (maybe not all, but LOTS) and finally, I have found it.  This concealer is down right amazing, and for only $6.00, how can you go wrong!?  I'll tell you how - by not going to Wal Mart and getting it!

Thanks for reading, and most importantly, STAY FOXY!!

BB Cream and Powder Review, plus Lipstick of the Day!

    Happy Thursday everyone...yes, we're ALMOST there! :)

Without further adieu, Today's Lipstick of the Day is:
Cover Girl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Embrace.

This color of this lipstick is seriously amazing.  I was out perusing for new finds last week, couldn't come up with anything...all the colors started looking the same...I was getting burnt out...and then...BAM!!!  EMBRACE'D IN THE FACE!!!
Cover Girl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Embrace
This lipstick is purple with tiny micro iridescent glitter in it.  I could not wait to try it on, and I wasn't disappointed when I did.  However, I did find out the hard way that this lipstick needs extra TLC with the application - any mistakes outside the lip line and you'll have a lovely pinkish purpley stain which is that lovely "i just drank a crapload of kool aid" look, and is not so flattering :)  The wear time of this lipstick is good, I have 6 hours without re-applying and the color is still in full effect, however, it does feel a bit drying.  This lippie will not break the bank either - you can find it in any drugstore for between 6-8 dollars.

    On to my next review...
Revlon Photoready BB Cream Skin Perfector!  (I am wearing this in today's Lipstick of the Day photo, for reference!)

    Revlon describes this product as:

A lightweight, multi-benefit Beauty Balm that combines skincare, makeup, and sunscreen into one step."  The multi-benefits being:

    - HYDRATES like moisturizer
    - SMOOTHES like primer
    - COVERS like foundation
    - BLURS FLAWS like concealer
    - PROTECTS with SPF 30 like sunscreen

Swatch of Revlon Photoready BB Cream Skin Perfector

If any of you have tried the Asian BB Creams, (I'll do some reviews on these in the future, they are AWESOME) they are nothing like the ones that are released in the US - although, this is no reason to write these less expensive, more available alternatives off.  In my opinion, this BB cream definitely covers better than the other US ones that I have tried (maybelline, garnier, loreal), but if I'm having a serious "OMG THIS ISNT HAPPENING" skin day, this would not be the product to use because it doesn't cover those "break out" blemishes so well.  I have combination skin, and notice that I have to touch up more often during the day when I wear this.  I do however like the natural sheen that it gives my skin, and once this is set with a powder it looks even better.  I would say this is good for people with drier/normal skin with minimal acne scarring/issues.  The coverage is definitely better than average for a US BB cream, and it's not so expensive either at only around $10.  Make sure you swatch it in the store, I'm usually the lightest color but had to go "Light/Medium" on this one.

For my last product review of the day...

Milani: The Multi-Tasker Face Powder! (I am also wearing this in today's Lipstick of the Day photo, for reference.)

I loooooove me some powder!  I have tons of powders, and will try any powder once!  I overlooked this powder FOREVER, but one day while googling  powder reviews, I noticed this was getting rave reviews.  This was getting better reviews than MAC's Blot Powder (which is really popular) and plenty of other popular powders as I was, needless to say, intrigued.

    Milani describes this product as:

    Setting / Finishing / Blotting
A multi-purpose face powder light to medium coverage.  Gives you a natural matte finish without caking.  Absorbs excess oil and reduces shine.

I can absolutely attest to the description that Milani provides for this product, my favorite part being NO CAKING.  There's nothing worse than applying your makeup perfectly that day, only to get all cakey and gross after the afternoon "touch up."  I like to use a brush to apply, however the little puff that comes with this isnt so bad for touch ups! This powder rocks my socks, and runs between 7-10 dollars, depending where you get it.  Milani is sold at CVS, Walgreens, Target, Kmart, Sears, and

Hope you enjoyed the reviews, thanks for reading and stay foxy!!!  (and warm, it's freakin freezing outside!!)

Amazing Drugstore Finds AND Lipstick of the Day - January 23, 2013

This will be my first multi-review post, and I'm pretty excited about it!

Let's start off with my favorite, Lipstick of the Day!  Today's Lipstick of the Day is...

Kat Von D Painted Love Lipstick in Lovecraft
Kat Von D's Lipsticks never fail in the awesome department.  They are always super pigmented, and moisturizing with a semi-matte finish.  Lovecraft is a dusty rose, with a "MLBB" (My Lips But Better) effect.  I feel it pulls kind of lavenderish on me too sometimes.  The packaging on KVD's Painted Love line of lipsticks is bad ass!  It is a matte black tube with Kat's signature rose tattoo design on the lid, and a Lucite bottom so the color of the lipstick is viewable without removing the top.  I easily get 4 hours of wear with these lipsticks, but have no issue re-applying these - love the packaging!

On to the [arm and face] swatches!!!

Kat Von D Painted Love Lipstick in Lovecraft (with flash...and goosebumps, it was freezing today!)

Kat Von D Painted Love Lipstick in Lovecraft (No flash)
Kat Von D's lipsticks are available exclusively at Sephora and and retail for $19.00

Now then, on to my next two reviews!  These are two totally awesome drugstore finds that I feel compelled to share.  These two items are together under $10.00 and both definitely aim to please.  Both items come from a nostalgic favorite brand of mine, Wet N' Wild!

    The first is....

Wet N' Wild Fergie Shimmer Palette in Rose Champagne Glow
This palette ROCKS!  It is literally huge, bigger than the palm of my hand.  It is a baked palette - the base color being the champagne, and the rose swirled in.  This product can be used wet or dry, which is the awesome perk of all baked products.  When used dry it is a natural looking glitzy champagne.  It's hard to really see the color (on me, anyway) when used dry, as it's very sheer.  When this product is used wet, it is a sexy metallic rosey champagne (duhhh! :P) and the staying power is much better when used wet.  I'm not sure if this is a limited line, I've only seen this particular item at Walgreens so far.  If you're not into Rose Champagne Glow, there are 2 other blusher colors, and a sexy bronzer!  For $4.99, what have you got to lose?!  Go get a Fergie shimmer palette and get your sexy on!!!!

    The last product is....
Wet N' Wild Coverall Cream  Foundation
This foundation rocks!  Never in my life would I think to find a foundation of such awesome quality in the drugstore...and for under 5 bucks no less!  Wet N' Wild describes this foundation as follows:

"Glides on weightlessly for sheer-to-medium coverage that’s never heavy, chalky, or dull. Evens out flaws with a silky, semi-matte finish that let’s your skin’s natural luminescence shine through. Contains SPF 15 for the ultimate in anti-aging treatment."

I agree with everything above except the coverage statement.  In my opinion, this is definitely medium to full coverage - it's totally build-able.  I apply this foundation with a beauty blender sponge, and in my opinion, that is the best way.  I have combination skin with mild/moderate acne scarring, and this foundation was able to cover these flaws, no problem.  This foundation is only $3.99 and can be found wherever Wet N' Wild is sold.  I got mine at Harmon.  This foundation definitely needs to be set with a powder to extend the staying power.  Wet N' Wild does market a "Coverall" powder with this line, however I didn't purchase it as I have a ton of powders in rotation...but maybe I will try it, because, hey, what's one more? :)

I am wearing both of these products in the lipstick swatch photo above.

Thanks for reading and stay foxy!!!

Smashbox "Tempt Me" - Lipstick of the Day - January 22, 2013

Lipstick of the Day: January 22, 2013 - Smashbox - "Tempt Me" (natural light, no flash)
Today's Lipstick of the Day comes from Smashbox's Spring 2013 line.  I ran into this beauty a few days ago at Sephora, and it was literally, love at first sight!

***Ohhh dreeeaaamweaver!!  I believe you can get me throouuugghh the ni-IIiIghhTT!***

But seriously, this lipstick is not only a beautiful color (very opaque coral/pink) but the packaging is absolutely adorable.  The lipstick itself has "Love Me" with a heart, carved right into it.  So frickin' CUTE!  All in a lovely gun-metal casing, totally secure and purse-friendly for touch-ups.

Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in "Tempt Me"
The color payoff is awesome, moisturizing opaque coverage in one swipe...and that's not all, it just gets better as it wears.  It starts off with a glossy finish.   As the glossiness wears off, the color remains and leaves a beautiful stain that is even better than the initial application itself.  Brilliant!

Here are some more pictures and swatches:

    With Flash
    Without Flash
With Flash (and a bonus rogue hair flying in front of my face, haha!)

This lipstick retails for $19 and can be purchased at Sephora, Ulta, and online at

Tempt ME?  Ohhh yes it did - hook, line and sinker!

Love it?  Hate it?  Tried it?  Feel free to share!

Thanks for reading, and stay foxy!!! :)

LIPSTICK OF THE DAY - January 21, 2013

Lipstick of the Day:  Clinique's Different Lipstick in "Tenderheart"

This lipstick is a special one, for me!  This was my very first "high-end" lipstick.  My childhood best friend and I coveted this lipstick after seeing it in "Seventeen" Magazine, and I'm sure we talked everyone's ears off about it.  Finally, her mom got so fed up that she purchased it for us BOTH!  We had it in the "pot" form that came with the little lip brush, which made it even more luxurious to put on - applying it was a whole big thing, every time, and it was fantastic!

This lipstick would compliment any skin tone, it is a lovely neutral brown with pink undertones, and a glossy finish.  I feel it would be universally flattering, the formula is moisturizing, and definitely buildable.  I get about 3-4 hours of wear, unless there's a meal in there, then, it's definitely going to have to be re-applied.

The packaging itself is equally awesome, a silver metal tube with a frosted design all down the outside.  Plus, the top definitely stays secure, so it's travel safe :)

Clinique lipsticks are more expensive than the drugstore brands, (I think they run about $15) however they are hypoallergenic and come in shades that are flattering on all skin tones (in my humble opinion!)

You can find Clinique at Sephora, Ulta, and any high-end department store.

Happy Monday, and stay Foxy! :)

    The Start of Something Foxy!

Foundations, powders, lipsticks, mascaras, shadows, brushes, lotions, potions, perfumes and all things wonderful in this world that keep us ladies looking our best.  These are the things that I am ALL about!

This is an introduction to what will become a blog about my never-ending search for the best beauty products, and also preaching my love about my favorites.  I love nothing more than makeup-talk, it is my favorite subject!  (Well unless someone wants to talk about the Smashing Pumpkins or Billy Corgan ;)

I've been posting a "Lipstick of the Day" on my facebook for the last few weeks - there are some people who love it, and some people who have seen enough Sher-Camwhore shots for the rest of their lives - which is why I have started a blog.  Lipstick of the Day still remains - and the post will also include more information and a mini review.

As far as actual products go, I can very proudly say that I am no "makeup snob."

Makeup Snob: One who purchases only high-end beauty products

In a nutshell, high end brands are at places like Sephora and department stores such as Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, etc.  Ulta also has a "high-end" section which they [proudly] refer to as their "Prestige" brands.

I do own a fair amount of high-end products, and I love them.  However, in order to keep up with these brands, the "low-end" brands (anything you can find in a drugstore, walmart, target, walgreens, etc.) have had to up the ante on their products, and I have to say, there really are some absolutely exceptional drugstore finds out there (one of them being my HG 'holy grail' Mascara, the Jordana Extreme Lash Mascara - which retails for all of 3 bucks at Walgreens and Kmart!  GO GET IT, trust me!)

Do I have a lot of makeup?  Yes :)  It's a fantastic hobby, and I can proudly say that I will never, ever have enough.  I am on the constant search for whatever will give the look of - my ultimate goal - complexion perfection!  I rotate plenty of foundations and powders that do have this effect - however, in the back of my mind, I am always thinking "well if this looks good, there's got to be something that looks even BETTER!"  Is this a sign of mental illness?  Maybe.  Some people have called me crazy...certifiable...obsessed.  Call me what you will - I personally see no issue with the hunt to attain personal perfection.

"Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder" ~ a truer statement has never been spoken.  The important thing to know is that no one is going to be universally though of as "beautiful."  The only person that you have to be beautiful for is yourself.  Attain the look that YOU want to achieve, and don't ever do it for anyone but yourself.  That, plus a good attitude is all you need :)

Thanks for reading - have a great day and most importantly, STAY FOXY :)
